Terms & Conditions
These terms explain how bookings and mobile valeting or detailing services provided by Hydro Shine work.
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you request or book a vehicle valeting, detailing or related service from Hydro Shine. By making a booking, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have authority to authorise work on the vehicle and accept these terms.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
2. Contact details
Hydro Shine provides mobile car valeting and detailing across Leeds and West Yorkshire. You can contact us at contact@hydroshine.co.uk or on 07405 220 248.
3. Quotations and service information
- Prices, estimated durations and service descriptions are shown on our website or confirmed before booking.
- Prices are based on the vehicle size, service selected and the information supplied by you.
- You must give accurate details about the vehicle, including its size, number of seats and condition.
- Additional charges may apply for seven-seat vehicles, excessive pet hair, heavy soiling, staining, mould, bodily fluids, hazardous contamination or work outside the selected service.
- If the vehicle differs materially from the details provided, we will explain any revised price or service recommendation before carrying out chargeable additional work. You may decline that additional work.
- Promotional offers are subject to their stated dates and conditions, cannot normally be exchanged for cash and may not be combined unless we expressly confirm otherwise.
4. Making a booking
A booking request is not confirmed until you receive confirmation from Hydro Shine and any required £25 booking deposit has been successfully paid. Appointment times are estimates and may be affected by traffic, weather, previous appointments or circumstances outside our reasonable control. We will contact you if we expect a significant delay.
The £25 deposit is non-refundable and is credited against the final price of the booked service. This does not affect any statutory right to a refund, and the deposit will be refunded if Hydro Shine cancels and you do not accept an alternative appointment. Any remaining balance is due on completion of the service.
5. Your right to cancel an online booking
If you are a consumer and book online or by telephone, you will normally have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of the contract being made. If you ask us to provide the service during that 14-day period, you expressly request early performance. If you then cancel after work has started, we may charge a reasonable amount for the service supplied up to cancellation. Once the service has been fully performed following your express request and acknowledgement, the statutory cancellation right may end.
To exercise a statutory cancellation right, contact us clearly by email or telephone using the details above. This section does not affect any additional cancellation arrangements below.
6. Cancellations and rescheduling
- Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or change an appointment.
- The £25 deposit is non-refundable. If you give at least 48 hours’ notice, we may allow the deposit to be transferred once to another available appointment at our discretion.
- With less than 48 hours’ notice, or if we cannot access the vehicle at the agreed time, the deposit remains non-refundable and a new deposit may be required for another booking.
- Repeated changes, missed appointments or a second change to a transferred booking may require a new deposit.
- If Hydro Shine cancels and cannot agree a suitable alternative, any amount paid for the affected service will be refunded.
The non-refundable deposit is intended to reserve your appointment and contribute toward the scheduling and administrative costs of the booking. It is not intended as a penalty. Your statutory cancellation and refund rights remain unaffected.
7. Access and customer responsibilities
At the appointment time, you must:
- ensure the vehicle is legally and safely parked in a suitable location where we have permission to work;
- provide access to the vehicle and its keys for the duration of the service;
- tell us about parking restrictions, permits, height limits, security arrangements or other access issues in advance;
- tell us whether suitable water and electricity are available when asked during booking;
- remove all personal items, valuables and rubbish from the vehicle before our arrival;
- remove all child seats before our arrival unless the “Child Seat Deep Clean” add-on has been purchased; and
- disclose known defects, loose trim, leaks, electrical faults, non-standard finishes, recent paintwork, wraps, coatings or other matters that may affect safe cleaning.
We may refuse or stop work where the location, vehicle condition, weather, contamination or behaviour at the premises creates a health, safety or legal risk. We will explain the reason and deal fairly with any payment already made.
8. Vehicle condition and service results
- We will perform the service with reasonable care and skill.
- Results depend on the age, material, previous treatment and condition of the vehicle. Some stains, odours, scratches, etching, oxidation, mould damage, corrosion or defects may be permanent or may require specialist work.
- Valeting, deep cleaning, machine polishing, paint correction and coating reduce or improve defects but do not guarantee complete removal or a flawless finish.
- Before-and-after photographs may be taken to record vehicle condition and completed work. We will seek appropriate permission before using identifiable images for marketing.
- We may complete a visual condition check and bring pre-existing or hidden damage to your attention.
9. Paint correction, coatings and specialist work
Paint correction removes a controlled amount of clear coat. We will use reasonable professional judgement, but some defects may be too deep to remove safely. Ceramic-coating durability and performance depend on preparation, vehicle use, storage, maintenance, environmental exposure and compliance with aftercare instructions. Any specific guarantee will be limited to the written guarantee supplied for that service.
Engine carbon cleaning, ozone treatment, mould removal, headlight restoration and other specialist services are improvement services. Unless expressly confirmed in writing, they are not mechanical repairs, medical treatments or guarantees that an underlying fault, health risk, warning light, odour or contamination will never return.
10. Weather and events outside our control
As a mobile service, we may need to postpone, alter or cancel work because of rain, high winds, freezing conditions, extreme temperatures, unsafe surfaces, equipment failure, road disruption or other circumstances outside our reasonable control. Where practical, we will offer the next suitable appointment. You will not be charged a cancellation fee where Hydro Shine makes the cancellation.
11. Inspection and reporting a problem
Where possible, please inspect the vehicle when the service is completed and tell us promptly about anything you believe has been missed or damaged. If a problem is not reasonably visible immediately, contact us as soon as practicable with details and photographs where available. Prompt notice gives us a fair opportunity to inspect the vehicle and, where appropriate, repeat or remedy the affected part of the service.
12. Damage and liability
Hydro Shine is responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for:
- pre-existing damage, defects, wear, corrosion or insecure components;
- damage that could not reasonably have been identified before work began;
- loss of items left in the vehicle where you did not follow section 7; or
- loss caused by inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by you.
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.
13. Personal belongings, rubbish and child seats
All personal items and rubbish must be removed from the vehicle before our arrival. We are not liable for loss of or damage to personal items left in the vehicle, except where liability cannot legally be excluded. Areas obstructed by belongings may not be cleaned.
All child seats must be removed before our arrival unless the “Child Seat Deep Clean” add-on has been purchased. Where that add-on has been purchased, our responsibility is limited to cleaning the child seat. You remain responsible for installing it correctly and checking that it is secure before use.
14. Payment
You must pay the remaining balance of the agreed price, including any authorised extras, on completion of the service. We may withhold vehicle keys until an undisputed amount due for completed work is paid. If you believe an invoice is incorrect, contact us promptly so we can investigate.
15. Maintenance plans and recurring services
A maintenance-valet schedule is subject to continued eligibility, regular attendance and the vehicle remaining within the expected maintenance condition. A Deep Clean or other preparatory service may be required before joining or rejoining. Frequency, price and included work will be confirmed when the plan is arranged. Either party may end a non-fixed recurring arrangement by giving reasonable notice, subject to any confirmed booking already within its cancellation period.
16. Complaints
Please send complaints to contact@hydroshine.co.uk with your booking details and a clear explanation of the issue. We aim to acknowledge complaints promptly and work with you toward a fair solution. These terms do not restrict your right to seek independent consumer advice or use any legal remedy available to you.
17. Privacy
We use personal information to manage enquiries, bookings, payments and services as described in our Privacy Policy.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for future bookings when our services, prices, technology or legal requirements change. The terms applying to your booking are those made available when the booking was confirmed, unless a change is required by law or agreed with you.
19. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts that apply where you live. Nothing in this section removes mandatory rights available to you.
